This scene takes place in the dark woods. There is a light inside the little house. The house belonged to a young woman named Joy. She was just finishing up her yoga session until it was her bedtime. “I think I’ll have a little snack with milk after all that stretch work.” She went to the kitchen and grabbed a cookie with chocolate milk and went to bed.
As soon she was going to sleep, she heard a dripping sound. The sound must’ve come from her bathroom sink and she went to stop the drip. Then she went back to sleep. While she slept, the sound of wind came flowing in huge gusts. Next, a storm blew to where the house is in the woods.
Joy was still sleeping until she woke up and saw a hole leaking from her bedroom ceiling. Joy began to worry. That means trouble. She went to the kitchen to grab a pot from under the sink and put it right under the hole where the water drops could be contained inside.
“That should do it,” said Joy with relief. Then she went back to bed, but not for long. She felt something wet on her face. Another drip! “Man, this is getting crazy!” Joy said, feeling a bit annoyed. She went to the kitchen again and grabbed a teapot this time. She put it where she was sleeping and then looked out the window to see the heavy rain pouring down.
“I think I’ll have my snack now while I watch it pour.” She then went to grab her snack and ate it while she watched the rain come down. The warm milk made Joy feel sleepy, and she dreamed about the warm sun coming out and shining down in the woods. During the dream, she was looking at a red mushroom with white spots. As she reached out to it, a thunder bolt woke Joy up and she noticed that her house was being flooded with water!
Poor Joy was in peril now. She did what she could to save herself. She opened the window to throw some water away with her glass, but it didn’t help. She tried opening the door instead, but it didn’t budge. She now felt trapped, and she began to drown underwater, feeling unconscious. Just when it was over for her, Joy opened her eyes and decided to try once again to pry the door open. She ran to where to the door and with her ounce of strength, she pulled it open!
Just then the sun came out, the water disappeared, but the house was a watery mess! A man came in and saw the damage, plus Joy, who was very exhausted from last night. He went over to wake her, and Joy opened her eyes, feeling that she could breathe.
“You alright?” he said kindly.
“Yes,” said Joy. “I sure could use a hand for getting me out of this house.”
And so, Joy and the man left the house and Joy could feel nature’s presence all around. She then vowed to never go back to the house in the woods again!
