World College Radio Day is an event that WLMC participates in every year. This year it was held on October 4, 2024 and the theme was the soundtrack for democracy. It is a 24-hour event that hundreds of college radio stations around the world are a part of. The DJs that were on air during this event did a really good job staying awake and doing good live content. For any DJ doing this event for the first time, it is a good learning opportunity and a chance to meet new people. DJ’s are the studio all day and all night doing seamless live transitions on air while playing PSAs. The event is very inclusive for all DJs. People can go on the air with their friends or just go on the air with brand-new people for a 2-hour show slot. Sometimes you can have 4 people on one show. That can get crazy, but it is really fun!
