Submission Guidelines
All content submitted for consideration of publication to LCVoices.com and/or Voices magazine must:
- Follow Landmark’s RUSH (Respect, Understanding, Safety and Honesty) Principles
- Be submitted by the student author – while we welcome faculty to encourage students to submit exceptional work, we will refuse any submission on an author’s behalf.
News/Journalism
For non-fiction, there are additional guidelines that any submission must follow:
- Be accurate and factual
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest
- Provide context to the story
- Provide supporting sources/links
- Minimize harm
- Be Accountable for mistakes
Art Submissions
Due to the unique nature of art submissions (drawings, photography, multimedia, etc.), LC Voices will evaluate each submission on an individual basis, while generally following this set of guidelines (which do not deviate from the RUSH Principles):
- All submissions must be submitted by the original artist.
- No gratuitous or excessive depictions of violence.
- No sexual violence of any form.
- Submissions involving nudity will be reviewed based on artistic context.
- No art submitted may be aimed at any groups to cause harm.
- Art that may be considered discriminatory against any specific demographic will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- No art inciting or depicting harassment of any individual on any grounds.
- All artwork serving as political commentary must be submitted with applicable context.
*These guidelines were updated during the Spring 2023 semester by Guinevere Downey, executive editor for LC Voices.
