She Kills Monsters Auditions

On October 21st, 2024, in the Fine Arts Building (FAB) Greenhoe Theater, auditions were held for the play She Kills Monsters!

She Kills Monsters is a play written by Qui Nguyen, an award-winning playwright, TV writer, and screenplay writer who, according to IMDB, was a contributing writer to the 2021 movie Raya and the Last Dragon. Also, a writer for 2016’s PBS show Peg + Cat and many more works including She Kills Monsters!

Agnes Evans as she seeks to understand the life that her dead sister (Tilly Evans) lived through reopening her Dungeons and Dragons story, with the intent of finishing it. It melds between the imaginary world of D&D and the real world to uncover her sister’s life through her search in reality and D&D.

The play will be directed by Josh Moyse and you do not need to bring anything to the audition, just a writing utensil!

If you are a fan of D&D or love to be in the spotlight, or love theater, this is a play that we hope to see in the near future!

Jonathan (He/Him/His) (more colloquially known by his nickname, JJ) is a second year Landmark transfer student and he’ll tell anyone that he’s “a sophomore at Landmark, junior altogether” when it comes to college. He is currently majoring in communications with a minor in psychology. In his free time, he enjoys playing on his Fender Stratocaster, producing on Ableton Live, listening to music through his earbuds, and creative writing! He does not have any prior journalism experience, though he is excited to learn. Fun fact: when he was younger and saw The Karate Kid starring Ralph Maccio he wanted to do karate, and he did, from 2nd grade to 9th grade. Fun fact 2: He was born in London, England, but has lived in New York City, Manhattan for 19 of his 20 years of life, and he has two siblings who he admires.
