As the fall semester continues, students are forming various relationships with people around them – professors, roommates, classmates, and so on. One of the most important foundations of any relationship is self-advocacy. Multiple questions and fears naturally come up about this – “What if I sound too aggressive?”, “I’m too afraid.”, “What if they say no?”. To combat and ease your fears, the Women and Gender Center will discuss setting boundaries. Participants learn how to set healthy boundaries and speak up for themselves without being guilty. They’ll also go over how to express themselves safely, and who to turn to when they need help. This program is perfect for those who struggle with assertiveness, feel like they’re being taken advantage of, or are overwhelmed by tasks and obligations. This discussion will take place in The Women and Gender Center, located in the basement of Frost Hall. It is scheduled to go from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
But I don’t want to be mean!
