The Stonewall Center will be holding an event to discuss the history of various artists from the queer community. Throughout history, members of the LGBT+ community have gathered prolific fame in the art world. Some of the most well-known queer visual artists include Leonardo de Vinci, Keith Haring, and Frida Kahlo. While some of them were open about their same-sex attraction, there were many who had to hide it and whose sexual orientation hadn’t been researched until years after their deaths. It’s important that we talk about them so we can remember their impacts as both artists and members of the queer community. After the discussion is held, participants will get the chance to create artwork of their own. It will take place in the coffeehouse in the basement of Stone Hall. This event is scheduled for October 10 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
